With a design inspired by luxury cars, Jaecoo 7 surpasses traditional brands in Europe; In the Brazilian market, the model already has almost 5,000 units sold
In the United Kingdom, he earned a nickname that mixes mockery and admiration: “Shopee’s Range Rover”. The Jaecoo 7, a Chinese SUV that bets on a design “inspired” by British luxury SUVs, ended 2025 as an unlikely commercial phenomenon. In less than a year on the market, the model broke the barrier of 20 thousand units sold on the island, appearing in the top-10 of registrations for consecutive months and surpassing traditional European brands.
The recipe for success is pragmatic and global, echoing even in the Brazilian market. While an authentic Range Rover exceeds 100 thousand pounds, the Chinese rival delivers similar aesthetics for around 30 thousand pounds. In Brazil, where the model landed in April 2025 with prices in the range of R$ 230 thousand, the strategy also had an effect: the SUV closed the year with 4,917 units licensed, consolidating itself as the brand’s main product in the country, according to data from Fenabrave.

However, it is in the United Kingdom that the sales volume impresses with the quality of demand. Most registrations come from private buyers (retail), and not from direct sales to rental companies, a common practice to inflate numbers. The SUV has become the favorite vehicle for school transportation in suburban areas, especially attracting women between the ages of 27 and 32. For this audience, the model offers the chance to project a social status similar to that of Land Rover owners, but at a rational cost.

The cultural impact is measurable on digital platforms: in October 2025, searches for the brand skyrocketed by more than 5,000% among the British. Interestingly, the success of the design even generated a parallel market for customization. Local press reports point out that many owners remove the Jaecoo logos or change the front grille to make the car even more similar to the model that inspired it, consolidating the SUV as an affordable alternative to unattainable luxury.
