Renault presented a new strategic variant for the Captur in Europe, focused on energy efficiency and autonomy. Named Eco-G 120, the version debuts the mechanics with a 1.2 turbo engine that uses a bi-fuel system, combining gasoline and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas). The set delivers 120 hp of power and 20,4 kgfm of torque, representing a gain of 20 hp compared to the previous configuration.

The main asset of the model is the combined range, which can reach 1,400 kilometers. For this, the SUV has a pressurized 50-liter LPG tank, installed in the niche originally intended for the spare tire, which works in conjunction with the 48-liter gasoline tank. In addition to the savings in the pocket, the French manufacturer highlights the ecological appeal: in LPG mode, CO₂ emissions are reduced by about 10% compared to a purely equivalent combustion engine.

In addition to the mechanics, the European Captur received technological updates to remain competitive in the compact segment. The safety package now includes camera fatigue detection, emergency stop assistant integrated with semi-autonomous driving and the 360° 3D Vision system, which uses high-definition cameras for maneuvers.

While the model is still in evidence in the international market, with prices starting at € 26,400 (approximately R$ 162 thousand), the Brazilian scenario is one of farewell. The Captur was discontinued in the country after facing production difficulties due to the shortage of components and a commercial performance below expectations, making room for new investments by the brand in the domestic market, such as the recently launched Kardian.
