The new generation of the Renault Duster is already being tested in Brazil, pointing to a possible launch of the car here. However, the highlight of the moment happens on the other side of the world: the new Duster has just been officially launched in India.

This debut in the Indian market is fundamental for us, as it anticipates the visual and mechanical novelties that the French manufacturer will possibly adopt in the domestic market. The Indian model, which serves as a reference for the brand’s global repositioning, maintains the characteristic robustness of the platform, but bets on a more refined finish and turbo engine throughout the range.

In India, the 2026 lineup will consist of two engine options focused on efficiency. The entry-level version there uses the 1.0 TCe three-cylinder engine — the same one that debuted in Brazil with the Kardian —, delivering 100 hp and 16,6 kgfm, coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. This Indian configuration aims to balance cost-effectiveness and urban agility.

For the top configurations in the Asian country, Renault reserved the 1.3 TCe engine, recalibrated to offer 163 hp and 28,5 kgfm. This engine guarantees greater versatility, and can work with manual or automatic dual-clutch transmission. In the visual aspect, the newly presented SUV preserves the “muscular” lines of Dacia’s original design, but adopts exclusive Renault headlights and the inscription of the model name prominently on the front grille.

The interior of the Indian Duster represents the biggest qualitative leap of the new generation. The dashboard has been completely redesigned based on the Boreal concept, incorporating a raised center console and ambient lighting system. In the Iconic version offered there, the technological package includes a 10.25″ digital instrument panel, a 10.1-inch multimedia center with wireless mirroring and a panoramic sunroof.

The model launched in India also has the complete ADAS package, encompassing autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control, essential items to maintain competitiveness in the face of new Chinese and European rivals in that market (and, in the future, here).
