The auto credit market recorded its best performance in 14 years in 2025. According to data released by B3, the volume of financed vehicles reached 7.3 million units, an increase of 2% compared to the previous year and the highest level observed since 2011.

The consolidation of the sector was mainly driven by the used segment, which accounted for the largest share of operations, totaling 4.6 million units. Financing of new vehicles — a category that includes light, heavy and motorcycles — totaled 2.6 million contracts.

In the regional analysis, the percentage growth was more expressive outside the traditional axis. The Northeast and North recorded increases of 12.3% and 9.8%, respectively. In absolute volume, however, the leadership remains with the Southeast, which concentrates 41.9% of all financing in the country, followed by the South (20.2%), Northeast (19.5%), Midwest (10.6%) and North (7.9%).

Another highlight of the survey was the performance of the two wheels. Motorcycle financing grew 11.3% year-on-year, reaching 1.9 million units. São Paulo leads the state ranking in this segment (18%), followed by Pará (7.7%) and Minas Gerais (7.5%).

For Thiago Gaspar, B3’s Product Superintendent, the result marks the third consecutive year of increase, highlighting the importance of credit for the sector. The executive points out that the growth reflects the consolidation of the market, supported by the efficiency of the National System of Liens (SNG) and fraud mitigation tools.
