The Nissan Kicks e-Power 2026 showed up at the Bangkok Motor Show in Thailand, and the first thing that jumps out at you is its familiarity: aesthetically, it is the same car we have in Brazil. That’s because the Thai model uses the global facelift that marked the transformation of the SUV here, going from Kicks Play to the new Kait.

The main distinction of the Thai version lies in the e-Power system. It is a series hybrid where the 1.2 aspirated engine acts exclusively as an energy generator for the 2.06 kWh battery. Unlike conventional hybrids, there is no mechanical connection between the combustion engine and the wheels; Traction is 100% provided by a 136 hp electric motor and 28,55 kgfm of immediate torque.

Although they share the same “shell”, the Thai Kicks and the Brazilian Kait differ in details of finish and convenience. Externally, the differences are limited to the 17-inch wheels with an exclusive design. However, the Thai cabin is superior: the model has a joystick-type gear lever, electronic parking brake and electric adjustments for the driver’s seat — items absent in the basic configuration of the Brazilian project.

In Brazil, units with e-Power technology have already been spotted in tests, but Nissan has not yet made official the launch schedule of the system in the country. In Thailand, the SUV arrives equipped with a robust driver assistance package (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control and 360º vision. With prices ranging from R$ 135,600 to R$ 150,280 in direct conversion, the Thai model sets a new efficiency ceiling for the compact SUV segment, combining the dynamic behavior of an electric car with the autonomy of a hybrid.
