Hyundai announced, this Wednesday (11), the launch of the Creta 2027 line, bringing relevant changes in the mechanics and commercial strategy of the SUV – one of the sales leaders in the segment. The main novelty is the repositioning of the range: the version with sporty appeal N Line takes the top of the line position, surpassing the Ultimate configuration, and both are now equipped with an unprecedented 1.6 turbo flex engine.

The mechanical update marks a significant change for the model. While the N Line version abandons the 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine to take it to the next level, the Ultimate version swaps the old 1.6-liter gasoline-powered engine for the new dual-fuel system. The entry options (Comfort, Limited and Platinum) keep the 1.0 TGDI set.

The adoption of the flex system in the 1.6 engine meets the new energy efficiency requirements of the Mover (Green Mobility and Innovation) program. To comply with the emission standards and avoid a 6.9% increase in the IPI (Tax on Industrialized Products), Hyundai opted for a recalibration that resulted in a loss of gross power.

It lost power but became flex

The engine, which previously delivered 193 hp, now yields 176 hp with gasoline and — in an atypical situation for flex engines — 173 hp with ethanol. Despite the reduction in power, the manufacturer preserved the maximum torque of 27 kgfm for both fuels. Full power is delivered from 1,500 rpm, which should maintain agility in urban exits and resumptions, compensating for the drop in final power numbers. The transmission remains a seven-speed dual-clutch automated transmission (DCT).

In the equipment package, the Creta N Line 2027 justifies its new status with 18-inch alloy wheels and exclusive diamond finish, in addition to the introduction of the Smart driving mode, which adds to the Normal, Eco and Sport options. In the intermediate versions, the novelty is the Platinum 1.0 Turbo configuration, which now offers LED headlights and front arrows as standard items.
