Honda revealed, this Thursday (5), in Japan, the fourth generation of Honda Insight. Now, the model definitively abandons the combustion engine to become an exclusively electric crossover SUV. Scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2026, the vehicle will have its early booking phase started on March 19.

Originally launched in 1999 as the automaker’s first mass-production hybrid, the Insight now takes on the form factor of a sport utility vehicle to meet global demand for versatile vehicles. Visually, the Insight EV adopts fluid lines and an aesthetic that favors aerodynamics, maintaining the sobriety characteristic of the Japanese manufacturer. Among the chromatic novelties, the introduction of the Aqua Topaz Metallic II shade, in shades of aqua green, stands out. Inside, the design prioritizes ergonomics with the use of soft-touch materials and raised front seats to widen the field of vision, while the rear row offers greater legroom and recline function.

Convenience technology also gains prominence with unprecedented features: the model debuts an intelligent heating system that autonomously coordinates the seat and steering wheel heaters, optimizing energy consumption according to the cabin occupancy. In addition, the SUV has an aroma diffuser with six selectable fragrances.

While the timeline for the Western market has not yet been detailed, Insight is expected to be a central pillar in Honda’s energy transition in the coming years.
