Ferrari provoked astonishment on Monday (9), when it announced the name and revealed the interior of its first electric car. It is the Ferrari Luce (‘light’, in Italian), scheduled to debut in the second half of 2026.

The Luce cabin debuted poorly, provoking resistance because of its appearance. The first images were released on Ferrari’s Instagram, removing any doubt about the veracity of the photos.

In them, one can see the use of a frame that has a floating frame, but whose dials (analog or not) maintain the classic round shape. The multimedia center is about 10″ and is in a black frame, which also includes the air conditioning controls. The piece is turned towards the driver, facilitating its access.

The center console features electric vehicle gear controls and controls for the four side windows, among other buttons. The steering wheel, in turn, has a retro look with aluminum spokes and has two niches that adjust car parameters.

Negative reaction

On the internet, the repercussion was mostly negative, with many users criticizing Ferrari’s apparent simplicity and lack of creativity. The brand’s purists were already saying that the absence of a combustion engine in the Luce would be, in itself, an unacceptable ‘sacrilege’.

One of the followers compared the multimedia center to a Nintendo video game. Another questioned the logic of making references to the past inside a car that is electric. There were also those who mocked asking if it was already April 1st.

According to Ferrari, the interior of the Luce was developed in collaboration with LoveFrom — an artistic collective based in San Francisco (USA).

“Ferrari Luce sees the electric architecture as a new opportunity, rethinking every detail of the cabin, the interface and the controls,” he explained in a statement. According to the manufacturer, all the new elements were designed to connect car and driver in a “completely new way”.
