Buoyed by its performance in the 2026 Dakar Rally, Dacia presented the new Duster Spirit of Sand. With production restricted to only 500 units destined for the Romanian market, the limited version seeks to emulate the credentials of the competition off-road for everyday use, mixing robust visual appeal and unprecedented equipment.

Off-road design and technical preparation as standard

Built on the top-of-the-line Extreme configuration, the Spirit of Sand edition is distinguished by stickers on the bodywork and paint in Areia color, which contrasts with copper-brown mirrors and 17″ black alloy wheels.

One of the main technical attributes of the SUV is the adoption, as standard, of a lower protector for engine and gearbox in 6 mm thick duralumin — an item charged separately in other versions. The high-strength metal alloy ensures mechanical integrity in severe terrain.

Under the hood, the model adopts the recently launched Hybrid-G 150 4×4 system. The set associates a 1.2 turbo hybrid engine with an electric propulsion on the rear axle, in addition to an automated dual-clutch transmission. The result is an electrified all-wheel drive of 152 hp, making it the most powerful version in the history of the utility.

Another differential is the bi-fuel capacity to run on gasoline and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas). Thanks to the two tanks of 50 liters each, the model reaches a range of up to 1,500 km.

Inside, the cabin has a complete package of equipment: multimedia center with 10.1″ screen, camera with panoramic view and parking sensors and assistance technologies, such as adaptive cruise control and blind spot alert.

The Duster Spirit of Sand can already be ordered in Europe for 28.990 euros (about R$ 156.500 in direct conversion), with first deliveries scheduled for April 2026.
