A motorcycle that accumulated a history of a thousand infractions and an astronomical debt of R$ 224 thousand in debts was seized this Thursday (5), in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo. The incident occurred during an integrated inspection operation between Emdec (Municipal Development Company of Campinas) and the Military Police.

During the routine approach, when consulting the data in the system, the agents found that the volume of irregularities made the circulation of the vehicle unsustainable under the legislation. Among the main faults recorded were recurrent speeding and licensing that had expired for years. After the approach, the motorcycle was immediately towed and sent to the Municipal Courtyard of Emdec.

The seizure of the “record-breaking motorcycle” was part of a larger offensive against recklessness. Throughout the same operation, the authorities identified 46 risky conducts, resulting in 30 fines to cars and 16 to motorcycles. In all, 11 vehicles were removed from the roads — seven cars and four motorcycles — for presenting irregularities that posed a direct danger to road safety.

Emdec’s balance points to a tightening of inspection: in 2025, 295 integrated operations were carried out in the city, which totaled almost 10.9 thousand serious infractions. The pace remains intense in 2026: in January alone, 23 blitzes were set up, identifying 712 irregular conducts. A fact that worries the authorities is the high rate of driving under the influence of alcohol: of the fines in the last month, 124 (17.4%) were motivated by the driver’s refusal to take the breathalyzer test.
