German preparer breaks tradition with Mercedes and launches hybrid SUV capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds
Brabus, a German preparer historically associated with Mercedes-Benz, broke with a decades-old tradition by presenting its first project based on a Lamborghini. The one chosen for the debut was the Lamborghini Urus SE, the Italian brand’s plug-in hybrid SUV, which was renamed Brabus 900 Mint. The model has undergone profound mechanical and aesthetic modifications, aligning with the company’s philosophy of creating ultra-luxury and high-performance vehicles.
The main change is under the hood: the preparer has optimized the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine which, combined with the original electrical system, now delivers a combined power of 900 hp and a massive torque of 127.5 kgfm. The practical result is supercar performance in a utility body: 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 320 km/h.

To deal with the extra power and give it a unique visual identity, the model received the “Widestar” body kit. The frame uses exposed carbon fiber to widen the fenders and house the immense 24-inch Monoblock Z “Platinum Edition” forged wheels. The exterior is dominated by the exclusive “Mint Green” paint, which gives the version its name and divides opinions due to its pastel tone in contrast to the aggressiveness of the vehicle.

The interior follows Brabus’ typical handcrafted customisation, called “Masterpiece”. The finish mixes leather in the same tone as the bodywork with carbon fiber details and aluminum pedals. The estimated price for this configuration is around US$ 700 thousand (approximately R$ 3,9 million in direct conversion), positioning the SUV in a restricted niche of collectors.

Recognizing that the “Mint” aesthetic may not appeal to all profiles, the company simultaneously made the “Superblack” variant available. This version retains the entire 900 hp technical package and aerodynamic changes, but adopts a sober, all-black visual presentation, focused on discretion and menacing elegance.
