Kawasaki Motors of Brazil issued, on Monday (12), a recall notice involving 994 units of the Ninja ZX-6R motorcycle. The call warns of a failure in the engine assembly process that, in extreme cases, can cause the involuntary shutdown of the moving vehicle, generating the risk of fatal accidents to the occupants. Due to the severity, the automaker recommends the immediate suspension of the use of the affected motorcycles until the repair is carried out.

The origin of the technical problem lies in the axial force of the crankcase bolts, which may be outside the factory specifications. This variation is capable of creating a gap in the lubrication of the crankshaft bearing No. 5, resulting in accentuated wear of the part. The noticeable symptom can be the sudden loss of power or the total blackout of the engine while riding.

The campaign covers motorcycles manufactured in 2024 and 2025, referring to the 2025 and 2026 model years. Check below the chassis intervals involved (non-sequential):

Complex procedure and scheduling

The service consists of the technical inspection of the tightness of the crankshaft bearings. It is a time-consuming procedure: the estimated time spent in the workshop varies between 4 and 12 hours, depending on the need for intervention. The repair is free, as determined by the Consumer Protection Code, and must be carried out exclusively in the network of authorized dealerships.

Appointments are already available from this Monday (12). To check if your unit is involved or for more information, Kawasaki provides the phone number 0800-773-1210, with service from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
