Accustomed to super sports cars, actor and fighter adds electrified model confirmed in Brazil to his private fleet in Florida
Known worldwide in the ring and on the movie screen, John Cena has also been the official voice of Honda commercials in the United States for more than five years. However, the actor’s relationship with the Japanese manufacturer goes beyond contractual obligations: a declared enthusiast, Cena has just added another model of the brand to his private garage, the new hybrid Prelude — which will soon arrive in Brazil.
The acquisition reinforces a recent history of loyalty to the company’s products. In 2023, the fighter revealed that he uses a Civic Type R (FK8 generation) in Boost blue as his daily vehicle. About a year later, it updated the fleet by changing the sports car for the new generation of the model, a Type R FL5 in the classic Championship white color.

The purchase of Prelude took place almost casually last weekend. According to reports from the actor himself, he went to the Wesley Chapel Honda dealership, near Tampa, Florida, just to perform scheduled maintenance on his Civic. He left there with the keys to the new coupe, opting for a blue shade similar to that of his old FK8.
Although they share Cena’s garage, Prelude and Civic Type R have different, albeit technically related, proposals. The new coupe is built on the same platform as the Civic and inherits suspension and brake components derived from the sports line.
The main difference lies under the hood: while the visceral Type R delivers 315 horsepower with its 2.0 turbo engine and manual transmission, the Prelude adopts a hybrid system focused on efficiency and torque at low revs, generating about 200 horsepower.
Cena’s connection with the model is not unprecedented. Last fall, he starred in the Prelude launch commercial, and at the end of 2024, he narrated an emotional advertising piece for the brand that rescued legacies of icons such as Ayrton Senna and Max Verstappen.
