Images reveal exclusive headlights and an unprecedented rear that distance the model from its compact brother; Full reveal is expected this year
Fiat is preparing a new generation of the Fastback, but it will be a little different: it is the ‘Panda Fastback’, as the coupe SUV that should be launched based on the new Grande Panda has been called — which will be launched in Brazil as the new Argo. The prototype of the model was spotted in road tests in Spain sporting a significantly reduced camouflage, which allowed, for the first time, a clear analysis of its definitive lines.
The catch confirms the Italian automaker’s bet on the coupe SUV segment. Unlike initial projections that suggested a more robust design, the prototype displays an elongated, sporty silhouette. The roofline features a smooth trim from the rear doors, creating a visual identity that refers directly to the platform “brother”, the Citroën Basalt.

The new images reveal that Fiat has chosen to differentiate this new Fastback from the rest of the Panda range through exclusive aesthetic details. The most notable change is in the optical assembly: the rectangular headlights are larger and seem to abandon the signature in LED pixels characteristic of the Big Panda, adopting a more conventional and sober look. The front grille has also been refined, making it slimmer and sleeker.
At the rear, even under disguises, it is possible to notice taillights with illuminated graphics that reinforce the width of the vehicle. The set is complemented by alloy wheels with a sophisticated design, underlining the premium aspiration of the model.
The performance of the prototype also drew attention. According to European press reports, the vehicle caught demonstrated agility when accelerating on highways to avoid photographers, indicating that it was the 100% electric version. The engine range shall consist of:
Strategically, the Panda Fastback will occupy the top of the family’s price list, even surpassing the future “Pandissima” of seven seats. The expectation is that the interior will follow this rise in level, with soft-touch materials and a larger multimedia center, distancing it from the image of an entry-level car.
The official presentation of the new car is expected to take place in mid-June 2026, with the arrival at European dealerships scheduled for the second half of the year, completing the renewal of the brand’s portfolio.
