New turbo engine with manual transmission expands the Italian crossover lineup, which now celebrates the launch with the Street edition
Fiat has expanded the 600 line with a new entry-level configuration, equipped exclusively with a combustion engine. The strategy aims to serve drivers who prioritize the classic driving experience and seek a more affordable starting price compared to the electric and hybrid variants of the utility, already sold in the European market.
Under the hood, the model adopts Stellantis’ ubiquitous 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine — the same set that equips the new Big Panda. With 100 hp of power and direct injection, the engine uses a variable geometry turbocharger to optimize energy efficiency. Unlike the electrified versions, the system is managed exclusively by a six-speed manual transmission, capable of taking the model from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds.

The new engine will be offered in two trim levels. The access version, called Petrol Pop, features a functional package with LED headlights, 16″ steel wheels and automatic air conditioning. Inside, the highlight is the 7″ digital instrument panel and the 10″ multimedia center. The top-of-the-line variant, La Prima, adds 18″ alloy wheels, chrome trim and premium synthetic leather upholstery.
To mark the debut, Fiat introduced the Street Edition limited series, restricted to 2,000 units. Visually, the edition is differentiated by the two-tone paint and glossy black details on the grille, door handles and emblems. The interior follows the darkened theme, with a black headliner and seats with contrasting stitching that display the embroidered “FIAT” inscription.
With the introduction of this variant, Fiat reinforces its position of offering multiple energy solutions for the same model, allowing the 600 to operate in a more aggressive price range in the competitive compact SUV segment.
