With Fiat Strada's constant leadership, car sales in Brazil draw attention to sharp variations of Geely EX2, Renault Kwid and Nissan Kait
The Fiat Strada was, once again, the best-selling car in Brazil throughout the month of February. The data consolidated by the automotive consultancy K.LUME show that the pickup maintains, without major scares, the position of best-selling vehicle in Brazil – its for five years.
The second place became the Volkswagen Polo, which displaced the VW T-Cross and took second place. Volkswagen’s SUV, meanwhile, fell to sixth place. Completing the podium now is the Fiat Mobi, whose sales grew 86% compared to January’s volume.

In all, there were 176,472 automobiles and light commercial vehicles registered in Brazil in February. The amount represents an increase of 8.7% compared to January. According to experts, it is normal, given that, historically, the month of December is marked by high sales, with a subsequent drop at the beginning of the year. The recovery, they explain, usually occurs by May.
K.LUME draws attention to the light commercial segment, which had a retraction of 3.5% compared to January and 8.6% compared to February 2025. In parallel, there is attention in the heavy segment, where there is already a 23% drop compared to the same period of the previous year. “The year will be complicated for the sector,” explains analyst Milad Kalume Neto.

In the comparison between January and February 2026, the performance of the Geely EX2 stands out: the rival of the BYD Dolphin sold 1,124 units in the first month, obtaining the 44th position in the overall ranking. In February, however, sales fell 83%; with only 193 registrations, EX2 was left in 88th place.
According to information obtained by AutoPapo, the fall of the EX2 did not have to do with public preference, but with logistical problems. This is because, according to internal information, the initial batch of the car ran out faster than expected, leaving dealerships without supplies. A new batch landed in mid-February, and Geely was already expecting a drop in the ranking.
The Nissan Kait was luckier, with the highest percentage growth. The successor to the old Kicks Play jumped 644 to 1,294 sales — a 101% growth that took it from 59th to 38th position.
The Renault Kwid grew a little less, which jumped from 2,611 to 5,195 registrations. The 99% evolution in numbers took the subcompact from 23rd to 8th position.
