Leather shoes and a tailored suit from the founder of Ferrari are part of a historic lot with millionaire potential announced by RM Sotheby's
The auction house RM Sotheby’s has a special lot for Ferrari fans and this time it is not about any special car or prototype of the brand. The auction is aimed at one of the most important figures in the world of motorsport: Enzo Ferrari and his personal items.
RM’s auction in Palm Beach will feature two of the Italian’s belongings: his Marelli leather shoes and a bespoke blue suit, made in an unusual color for his final years but which was spotted in tests with Villeneuve in 1980. Both have certificates of authenticity.

In the entire history of Ferrari and auctions, this is the first time that a personal item will be auctioned, as it is a piece commissioned by the executive in 1979. The suit was created by Gabriele Bertazzoni, Enzo’s personal tailor, who helped him build his iconic style, becoming a trademark in his last decade of life.

Also included are documents that recount the process of making the suits belonging to Enzo Ferrari, following the journey from the early 1970s to the mid-1980s. Within these files, there are samples of fabrics used in the clothes.
In addition to his passion for automobiles, Enzo was also a fashion enthusiast and liked the finest wool from brands such as Ermenegildo Zegna and Scabal. Thanks to his way of dressing, the founder of Ferrari is a style reference to this day.
RM did not disclose the value of both pieces; However, due to exclusivity, rarity and state of conservation, the auction may reach millionaire values. The suit, by itself, can reach US$ 200,000 at auction, about one million reais.
