Model that ran aground in stores gets a new price to fight with Volvo and Zeekr and other Chinese brands; see what changes in the brand's strategy
General Motors applied a drastic price reduction to the Chevrolet Equinox EV to try to reverse the commercial performance of the model in Brazil. After recording lower-than-expected sales figures, the automaker granted a discount of R$ 90.200 to the electric SUV, which now costs R$ 349.990. The move is part of a restructuring of the brand’s electrification strategy, which seeks competitiveness in the face of the advance of Chinese automakers.
Originally launched in October 2024 for R$ 419.000 and later readjusted to R$ 440.190, the Equinox EV found it difficult to establish itself. According to data from the Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association (ABVE), the model totaled only 28 units registered throughout 2025.

With the updated table, the Equinox EV leaves the price range where it competed internally with the Blazer EV and starts to fight directly with models such as the Zeekr X, from Geely’s luxury division, and the Volvo EX30 in its top-of-the-line versions.

Built on the Ultium modular platform, the SUV is equipped with two electric motors — one on each axle — that deliver 292 hp of power and 46 kgfm of torque. Although it is less powerful than the “bigger brother” Blazer EV RS (347 hp), the Equinox EV maintains the same agility, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.
The 85 kWh battery provides a range of 443 km, as measured by Inmetro. The charging system is compatible with stations up to 22 kW in alternating current (AC), which require about 4.7 hours for a full charge, and supports up to 150 kW in direct current (DC), allowing it to recover from 15% to 80% of the energy in 48 minutes.

In terms of dimensions, the model measures 4.84 m long, 1.95 m wide and has a generous wheelbase of 2.95 m, which guarantees good interior space, despite the 411-liter trunk being considered modest for the category. The technological package includes the Google Built In system, with maps integrated into the 11-inch instrument panel and 17.7-inch multimedia, as well as a complete driving assistance suite (ADAS) and 360° cameras.
