New BYD Seal line gains much larger trunks, more discreet decoration and visual touches. News arrived in Europe before the premiere in Brazil
BYD presented the 2026 BYD Seal line in Europe. The medium electric sedan received occasional updates, focused on design, technology and interior space optimization. Although the changes have not yet been officially confirmed for the Brazilian market, it is likely that the novelties will land in the country in the near future.
In the visual aspect, the most notable change in the bodywork is the adoption of a cleaner logo. The “Build Your Dreams” inscription on the trunk lid gave way to a compact emblem with only the letters “BYD”. The exterior aesthetic set also gained 19-inch alloy wheels with a new design, now with thinner spokes. In addition, the color palette started to offer Ruby Red, Obsidian Black and Lavender Gray — the last two options are already sold in Brazil.

The Chinese automaker’s engineering maintained the external dimensions of the vehicle, which is 4.80 meters long. The great asset of the 2026 line, however, is in the optimization of internal space. Now, the capacity of the rear trunk has jumped from 400 to 485 liters. The front luggage compartment (known as frunk) was also enlarged and gained an additional 19 liters, now holding 72 liters.
Inside the cabin, the seats covered in Nappa leather lost the logo that was sewn on the headrests, adopting a more minimalist look. In terms of technology and safety, the list of standard equipment has been reinforced: the Seal now has a digital key operated via Bluetooth by the driver’s smartphone and a new fatigue monitoring system, based on images captured by the front camera.

The range of engines remains unchanged in the European market. The top-of-the-line configuration, equipped with two electric motors and all-wheel drive — the same sold in the Brazilian market — delivers 530 hp of power and 68,3 kgfm of torque. There is also an entry-level version with a single rear engine of 312 hp and 36,7 kgfm, which has never been imported here.
Both versions are powered by the 82.5 kWh Blade LFP battery. According to the European cycle, the range reaches 570 km in the one-motor model and 520 km in the two-motor model. The maximum power for fast recharging in direct current (DC) remains at 150 kW.
