With technological innovations and a turbo engine, the current generation of the pickup reaches an expressive number since its launch in 2020
The Fiat Strada reached the mark of 850 thousand units produced of its current generation, introduced to the market in 2020. The expressive volume consolidates the compact pickup as the best-selling vehicle in Brazil and South America – a leadership position that the model has held for five consecutive years in the domestic market, when passenger cars and light commercial vehicles are added.

The commercial performance reflects a strategy of continuous technological updates by the automaker. As a recent example, in January 2026, Fiat started to equip the top-of-the-line versions of the model, Ranch and Ultra, with the Connect Fiat system. The telematics platform allows owners to access real-time monitoring, vehicle tracking and assistance services directly through a smartphone app.

From the mechanical aspect, the current generation of the Strada was a pioneer in its segment by adopting the turboflex engine, working together with the CVT-type automatic transmission. This configuration was developed to simultaneously serve the worker who uses the vehicle to transport cargo and the urban consumer who prioritizes comfort and performance in daily traffic.
Since its original launch in 1998, the pickup has served as a laboratory for the introduction of novelties in the category. The model was the first to offer an extended cab (1999), a double cab (2009), a third door (2013) and, at the turn of the current generation, the unprecedented four-door, five-seat configuration for the compact segment — a factor that drastically expanded its target audience.
