Modern design with aerodynamic heritage

The new A2 e-tron rescues the spirit of the original 2001 model, known at the time for its lightness and aerodynamic efficiency. Sketches reveal a shape reminiscent of a compact minivan, with a vertical front and rear and a sloping roofline that ends in an integrated spoiler. To ensure the technological look of the e-tron line, the compact will feature tapered Matrix LED headlights and wheels with exclusive aerodynamic hubcaps to reduce drag. While maintaining the urban focus, the new model will be slightly larger than its predecessor.

Market positioning and production

Audi’s strategy is to position the new A2 as its most affordable EV, focused on practicality for large metropolises. To make costs viable, the powertrain will be shared with the restyling of the Volkswagen ID.3 Neo.

According to CEO Gernot Döllner, local production reinforces the brand’s commitment to electric mobility “made in Germany” and the maintenance of qualified jobs. The return of the A2 name is part of an aggressive renewal of the Audi lineup for 2026, which also includes the launches of the Q7 and Q9 SUVs, as well as the update of the Q4 e-tron.
