Aznom's concept bets on extravagance with 8 meters in length and autonomy extender for long trips
The Italian Aznom Automotive, in collaboration with Camal Studio, presented L’Epoque, a limousine concept that proposes a subversion in the ultra-luxury segment. The project revisits the golden age of chauffeured cars of the 1920s and 1930s, but from a contemporary perspective dubbed “Simulacrum”. The proposal breaks with the sobriety of today’s executive sedans by adopting superlative proportions and an unapologetically theatrical aesthetic.
The visual impact is supported by exaggerated numbers: they are about 8 meters long, surpassing any regular production model, supported by immense 30-inch wheels. The design mixes classic elements, such as the flat hood and the prominent vertical grille, with an elongated rear that refers to the nautical design of a boat stern, creating a silhouette that prioritizes scenic impact over aerodynamics.

The experience of accessing the vehicle is part of the show. The doors are double-opening and raise part of the roof, making it easier to enter a cabin that abandons the traditional seating configuration. In place of ordinary benches, Aznom has created a true mobile lounge : there is an asymmetrical sofa, folding chairs and a multifunctional center console, capable of housing extravagant items such as a minibar, cigar humidor or automatic watch winders.

Following the premise that technology should serve comfort without being intrusive, digital screens remain hidden when not used. The finish prioritizes noble materials and the tradition of Italian craftsmanship, with extensive use of wood and fine fabrics. An artificial intelligence system works behind the scenes, managing air conditioning, lighting and adaptive suspension to ensure total isolation from the outside world.
Despite the retro look, the engineering is modern. The L’Epoque is driven by four electric motors — one on each wheel — that add up to more than 986 hp. To get around the autonomy anxiety in a vehicle of this size, the set includes a 100 kWh battery assisted by a V6 engine, which acts exclusively as a power generator.

Although presented as a conceptual design exercise, Aznom suggests that L’Epoque can be made to order while maintaining the exclusivity of a functional collector’s piece.
