On-screen command is not modernity, but a reduction in the manufacturer’s cost

The more commands are concentrated in the multimedia, the less is spent on electrical and mechanical commands, reducing development and assembly costs

A great innovation that gained strength with the electric car was the touch screen, a true revolution. The logic is: no pressing buttons on the panel to turn on, command, turn off, turn off and interrupt, when it is possible to start all functions by a light touch of the finger on the screen.

However, when I was already missing those little buttons to turn on and tune the radio, the factories went further and had the nerve to put the controls of the external rearview mirrors on the screen.

And then it was evident that it was not for modernism, but for the much cheaper cost, despite this change of commands for the screen being dangerous. Therefore, vehicle safety agencies had to prohibit several of them starting next year.
