In July 1976, Fiat began operations at its first plant in Brazil, in Betim, Minas Gerais. And there was already the Ford Corcel, Maverick, Galaxy. GM, Chevette, Monza, Opal. Volkswagen had the Beetle, Passat. And more, Simca JK and others.

And when people saw Betim’s first car, the cramped Fiat 147, the comment was: but is this how Fiat wants to conquer our market? Well, it was.

And with that, it has reached the leadership of the Brazilian market today and is part of Stellantis along with five other brands. In July of this year, Fiat celebrates its 50th anniversary in Brazil with a brand new model identical to the great Panda, which is an absolute success in Italy.
